DEI for Historic Sites and Museums
April 3 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
Free
DEI for Historic Sites and Museums will address challenges and celebrate successes for anyone interpreting or teaching about historic topics in the Kansas City region. We will examine our diverse history as a community, explore how to discuss that history, and learn how to implement DEI best practices both in events for the public and behind the scenes.
Ssessions will include Exploring Kansas City’s Diverse History, Bringing the Past to the Present Through Programming, Making Museums and Historic Sites More Accessible, and more.
This all-day continuing education opportunity is free to anyone who communicates history-related topics to members of the community (staff or volunteer) and includes lunch. Space is limited, please register by March 24.
This event has been developed by Wornall/Majors House Museums and is grant-funded through the generosity of Freedom’s Frontier National Heritage Area.
