Drink Your History: A Historical Tasting Series

History is brimming with stories of and influenced by alcohol. During the 2024 season of Drink Your History, Wornall/Majors is exploring four more historic topics through the lens of libations. Each event includes a brief presentation, plus three to four thematic tasting cups or mixed drinks. Tickets are $30 /$40 each or $100 for the whole series (A $30 savings!). 

Drink Your History – Birth of Celebrity  

September 27 at 5:30 p.m. 

Location: Alexander Majors House and Museum

Buffalo Bill Cody was one of the first influencers. Alexander Majors rose to fame as one of the founders of the mythical Pony Express. Uncover the history of celebrity in the United States on Alexander’s property while trying drinks created by modern Kansas City celebrities.

Wine is intertwined with history. Delve into the narratives of the world’s oldest alcohol while trying a few varieties. You are sure to leave with several facts to impress at that upcoming holiday party.

June 22 at 2:30 p.m.  

Location: John Wornall House Museum

In the colonial era, beer was considered safer than water. Now, it is a $114 billion industry in the United States. Learn about the rise of beer in the United States while enjoying brews from local distilleries. This event will take place on the Wornall House Museum grounds and feature live music.
