The land was taken by the United States on June 3, 1825 in the 124 cession of Native land. We recognize the suffering caused by this and other cessions as well as the role of the historic peoples we interpret in this pain. Our organization pledges to honor the past, present, and future of the Native peoples whose land we occupy.
