April 25 – July 15:
A Lifetime of Change: The Wornall Family Beyond the Civil War

While the Wornall House is perhaps most famous for its use as a field hospital during the Civil War, the Wornall name and legacy is embedded throughout Kansas City. Learn about the lives of the Wornall family beyond the Civil War, explore their contributions to the region, and reflect on how their experiences parallel the greater American experience in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The exhibit features never before displayed objects donated by the Wornall family.

This exhibit was sponsored by the University of Central Missouri.

The Wornall House has a small adjacent parking lot located on the east side of the house. Additional free street parking is available on 61st Terrace.

The Museum is not fully wheelchair accessible due to the historic nature of the home. However, those with mobility issues should be able to view the first floor of the House with few difficulties, and a wheelchair ramp is located on the north side of the front porch. If you are unable to use the stairs to access the second floor, we have a visual guide of items in the second floor bedrooms your docent can guide you through.
