Keepers of the Columns – Go Beyond Membership
Every successful nonprofit has a dedicated community of individuals who understand and value its mission. Their investments of time and treasure help ensure that the organization’s programs make a difference in the city where we live. The Wornall/Majors Museums has such a community: Keepers of the Columns. The name honors not only the distinct architectural feature of both historic Houses but the importance and power of the society’s members.
By making an annual tax-deductible contribution of $1,000 or more, “Keepers” provide reliable support for the Museums’ programs and services. Their gifts fund what is needed most. Your contribution might:
- Enable an inner-city child to attend a summer camp for the first time
- Support hiring a professional educator or performer who introduces kids to history in a personal and life-enriching way
- Assist in the design and implementation of a new exhibit or display to tell the story of regional history
- Fund a restoration or preservation project to help protect the Wornall or Majors House
In 2013, we led a successful capital campaign to reconstruct the foundation and façade of the Wornall House. This campaign was a first for us. We dreamed big and we accomplished our goals. We are now raising money for a complete wood restoration of the Majors House. And we won’t stop there – we have big things on the horizon for these historic homes and their place in the larger community.
